You’re Only As Good As Your Last At-Bat

#FPF – Week 61

You’re only as good as your last at-bat…

Over the last few weeks, we have talked about record breaking and importance of remaining on the constant offense – beating the goals you set for yourself yesterday.  The opening statement dovetails into these thoughts by underscoring that with all of the stimuli bombarding us every waking moment of our days – people can only be expected to remember the last interaction they’ve had with your brand (product, service, team member interaction etc..)

With that being the case, it is now more important than ever to ensure that we treat every interaction as it could (very easily) be our last.  If you are not doing absolutely everything in your power to keep a client/customer loyal to you and your brand, there is guaranteed to be a competing company waiting in the wings to snatch that individual up and make them their own.

The Point?

You can (and should) be doing more.

Just because you have “gotten by” with doing business the same way, doesn’t mean that some other market disruptor will use that unwillingness to evolve as an opportunity to land grab in your back yard. The speed at which you make decision that act in the best interest of the client/customer will be the differentiator between a business that has legendary staying power (always climbing) and one that used to be the king of the hill. (ie: Sears, Blockbuster Movies and Circuit City to name a few)

Thank you for reading this and enjoy your weekend!
