#FPF – Week 29
How you make your money is more important than the amount of money you make.
With the New Year upon us, we are entering a time of reflection. Reflecting on how the past year went and looking at ways to make this coming year the best one yet. One topic that surfaces a lot when crafting your New Year’s resolutions is “getting a job that pays more…” Whether you’re the guy (or gal) signing the back of checks, or the one lucky enough to sign the front – it’s important to remember that no matter your current situation: How you make your money is more important than the amount of money you make.
Unfortunately, the amount of people dreading Sunday night/Monday morning is higher than we would all like, but money isn’t the only variable that defines happiness or success. Case in point, if you choose a job for the money, but can’t stand the people you work with – you’re going to find yourself dreading Sunday evenings again…
A mentor once told me “Find something you love doing, then find a way to get paid to do it… do what you love and you’ll never [“work”] again a day in your life…” Luck may play a very small part to this equation, but make no mistake – you will likely be devoting a lot more effort up-front to make this change (because after all, you’re not settling for what’s comfortable anymore) and you remember what I’ve said about getting comfortable… Comfortable is dangerous.

I consider myself one of the fortunate few that gets out of bed every day for the people I work with. I love what I do, who I do it with and who we do it for. If you can’t say the same, it may be time for a change of scenery…
Let’s rock 2017 together!
Thank you for reading and have a great weekend!
