#FPF – Week 89
Failure. It’s such a negative thing… But it doesn’t have to be…
Sure, we are conditioned from a very early age to be the most “perfect” visions of ourselves that we can and in this context failure feels like the farthest departure from perfect.
But as I sit here writing this message, in my 15th year as the owner of Captivation, I view failing differently.
When I first started my business, as an “army of one” from a room in my parent’s house, I did everything I could to avoid failing at all cost. A view through rose-colored glasses…
Now, I embrace opportunities where a “fail” has happened and instead of dwelling on it, I learn from it, pivot, and try again.
Failing fast gives you the ability to take what you need from the experience and move on. Spending any time moping around and complaining about why it didn’t work the way you thought it would is a loser’s mentality (and your opportunity to leapfrog those that are stuck wishing how things should be, instead of going out and doing something about it.)
Fail, but do it fast and move the hell on.
Thank you for reading and have a great weekend!
